Pleasant service and very good food, fish being their specialty. Their set menu certainly is value for money. We stayed the night in one of their rooms upstairs. It was large and nicely furnished. Breakfast was good.
We drove the short distance to Youghal, parked up in a free car park and walked up the atmospheric North Main Street to Aherne's, where we received a very warm welcome. We decided just to go for starter courses [tasting dinner to look forward to at the Cliff House that night! The flat oysters were superb, the huge prawns in garlic butter were the tastiest I have ever eaten and the Guinness and Bulmers complimented the food perfectly. What else? Had fresh prawn cocktail which was a generous prawn salad. Nice aatmosphere in the pub and attentive service. Definitely the best for seafood - and maybe for food - in Youghal!
We regularly visit Luigi's Bella Roma on Youghal's main street. The food is always delicious and the restaurant caters very well for vegans and has many gluten free options. There are lovely soups, breads, salads, pastas, pizzas, desserts and coffee options. Prices are very reasonable and we always come away happy :.
My husband and I stayed in Aherne's for one night after a particularly arduous days travelling in heavy rain. The welcome was very warm, our room cavernous, very comfortable and absolutely spotless. It was just what we needed to lift our spirits.
